Plumbing Solutions
Comprehensive repairs, maintenance, and installations for all your plumbing needs.
Washougal sits at the western edge of the Columbia River Gorge, and it is a smaller and older town than its neighbor Camas even though the two run together. Much of the housing stock predates the newer development on the Camas side, which means we see more of the plumbing problems that come with age: supply lines that have been in service a long time, drain lines that have been repaired more than once, and fixtures fed by shutoff valves that have not been turned in twenty years.
Being close to the river and the Gorge has a practical effect too. Properties on the slopes and closer to the water can have drainage and groundwater conditions that make an outside line problem behave differently than it would on flat ground, and a leak that surfaces in one spot may be coming from somewhere else entirely. That is a case for finding the actual source rather than opening up the first likely wall.
Washougal is served by the city's own water system and city sewer. Typical calls here are water heater replacement, drain and main line clearing, leak detection in older homes, and plumbing work as part of a kitchen or bathroom update. We are set up for the older housing in particular, which mostly means being straight with you about whether a repair is worth doing on its own or whether the money is better spent on the larger fix.

A fair question and the answer is not automatically repipe. It depends on what the pipe is made of, how many repairs it has already had and where the failures are happening. If you are fixing leaks in the same area more than once, that is the signal worth paying attention to. We will give you the honest comparison rather than defaulting to the bigger job.
Usually. We use electronic leak detection to locate the source before opening anything up. That matters on older Washougal homes especially, because water travels and the wet spot you can see is often not above the actual leak.
It is worth fixing before you need it. Valves that have sat untouched for years seize up, and finding that out during an emergency is the worst possible timing. Replacing an angle stop is a small job compared to what it prevents.
