Remodel Plumbing in Vancouver, WA

Remodel Plumbing for Kitchens, Bathrooms and Whole Home Projects

A remodel is the one time your plumbing is genuinely easy to get right. The walls are open, the floor is up, and moving a drain line costs a fraction of what the same move costs later. It is also the point where a bad decision gets buried behind tile for the next twenty years. Pipesmith handles the plumbing side of kitchen and bathroom remodels so the finished room works the way the drawing said it would.

We work on remodels throughout Clark County. Vancouver is the bulk of it, particularly in the older neighborhoods where the existing supply and drain lines were never laid out for a modern kitchen island or a curbless shower, and we also work in Camas, Washougal, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, La Center and Woodland.

Most remodel plumbing problems are layout problems rather than pipe problems. A freestanding tub needs its drain in a place the original rough-in never anticipated. A kitchen island needs venting that satisfies the inspector, not just a drain that runs downhill. Moving a toilet three feet sounds trivial until you look at which way the joists run underneath it. We work out what the new layout actually requires before demolition starts, so the surprises happen on paper instead of on the morning the tile setter is scheduled.

We work directly for homeowners and as the plumbing sub for general contractors and remodelers. Either way you get the scope in writing, and we will tell you when the honest answer is that your existing pipe is fine. When it is not, open walls are the cheapest access you will ever have, which is why a remodel is often the right moment to replace aging supply lines rather than tile over them.

Our Remodel Plumbing Services in Vancouver

Bathroom Remodel Plumbing

New tubs, showers, vanities and toilets, including relocating supply and drain lines when the layout changes. We handle the rough-in, the inspection, and the trim out once tile and finishes are done.

Kitchen Remodel Plumbing

Sinks, dishwashers, pot fillers and disposals, plus the drain and vent work an island actually needs. If the new layout moves the sink away from the existing wall, that is the part to plan early.

Additions & Whole Home Remodels

When you are adding square footage or gutting more than one room, the plumbing gets designed rather than adapted. We size the new work against what the existing system can carry.

Working With Contractors & Designers

We come in as the plumbing sub on remodels run by a GC or a designer, work to your schedule, and keep the rough-in and trim dates where you put them.

Your Satisfaction is Our Goal

Remodel Plumbing FAQs for Clark County Homeowners

Have a question? click here!
When in a remodel should the plumber get involved?

Before demolition, not after. The layout decisions that cost the most to reverse get made at the drawing stage. A short conversation about where the drains and vents can realistically go usually saves a change order later, and at that point it costs nothing.

Can you move a sink, tub or toilet to a new spot?

Usually yes, and the real answer is under the floor. Supply lines are flexible. Drains need slope and venting, so how far a fixture can move comes down to joist direction, the run back to the stack, and whether we have access from below. We look before we promise.

Do I need permits for remodel plumbing?

Anything that moves or adds drain, waste, vent or water lines is permitted and inspected work in Clark County. We pull the plumbing permit and meet the inspector. Swapping a fixture in the same location is usually a different story, and we will tell you which one you are looking at.

Should I replace old pipes while the walls are open?

If the house still has galvanized supply lines, this is the cheapest opportunity you will ever get, because most of the cost of a repipe is access and you have already paid for it. If the existing pipe is copper or PEX and in good condition, we will tell you to leave it alone.
